From Mrs. LeFevre: Last week during Kindness Week, NEHS members were getting ready to deliver apple cider and donut holes to all of the classrooms. It was a great opportunity for classes to have a snack together in celebration of Kindness Week and for the NEHS group to work together as a team.

There will be a Facilities Input Meeting at the Jr./Sr. High at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday, November 29th. Please consider attending to learn where we have come from, where we are currently, and to give input to future planning for all district facilities including capital improvements of buildings, arts, athletics, Career-Technical Education (CTE), vehicles and district grounds. If you can't make it to this one but would like to participate, there is another meeting planned for January 18th. We hope to see you there!

Tonight’s awesome Pledge Leaders at the Board Meeting were 4th graders Aubrey Lincoln and Brantley Lattimer! They did a great job reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to kick off the beginning of the meeting. They earned this special honor by submitting the leadership tickets they won by exhibiting leadership skills in school. Thank you for your hard work, Comets! We are so proud of how well you represent our school.

The Sanford American Legion Riders Post 443 is hosting their annual open-to-the-public Toyz for Kids dinner on Friday, Dec. 2nd! Please refer to the flier or visit their Facebook page for more information regarding this special giving holiday event.

These 6th graders were having a blast playing in the snow! Thanks to Mrs. Lynch for sharing these pictures.

Mrs. Lynch reports: The 6th grade used their Math classes last week to help the PTO with the Apple Pie and Scrip card orders! Students worked in teams to check orders, count money and tabulate totals with paper/pencil. Each order was then double checked for accuracy with a calculator. Students had to initial each order to prove they agreed with what was on the paper. Every year the Coleman Elementary PTO works hard to provide field trip bussing for all classrooms along with family events and end of year activities. PTO also pays for all 6th graders to attend Mystic Lake Camp.

The Coleman Watch D.O.G.S. program (Dads of Great Students) was recently featured in the Midland Daily News! A huge thanks to Mr. Templeman for organizing this positive news coverage for our school! It was printed in yesterday's newspaper, or you can read the article here with a subscription: https://www.ourmidland.com/news/article/Coleman-Watch-D-O-G-S-program-increases-parental-17581681.php (Pictured is WATCH D.O.G.S Taylor Jardas, back left, and Matt Sysak, back right, with their children: Avery, front left, Jaxon, middle, and Crase, front right (photo taken by Tess DeGayner)).

Thank you to our Jr./Sr. High School Counselor, Emily, for applying for a grant that we were just awarded! This grant will help cover costs of college advising events that we host throughout the school year. Thank you for helping our students explore their futures and find success!

Next week is Kindness Week! Here is the Jr/Sr High School's schedule of themes and events. Let's remember to always be kind to ourselves and others, not only next week, but every day! Help spread the love, Comets!

The elementary school had their first Habit Huddle run by the Student Lighthouse team! According to our Dean of Students, Karly Larsen, the students were really excited for this leadership opportunity. The kiddos pictured here turned in the 'I Spy a Leader' tickets that they earned and won some awesome rewards! Great job, Comets!

Drama Club is still seeking a couple of props for the upcoming Christmas play on December 15th! Please let Mrs. Shumaker know if you'd like to donate, or if you know of someone who can!

Thank you to our anonymous donors whose generosity has allowed us to purchase new scientific calculators and microscopes at our Jr./Sr. High School. Here's just a few pictures of students using some of the calculators. We greatly appreciate our community members!

The next Facilities Input Meeting will be on Nov. 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium. Anyone in the community with an interest in Coleman Community Schools is encouraged to attend. During this meeting, we will begin reviewing the next steps of our 1, 5 and 10-year plan as well as how we seek to fund those projects through a variety of sources. Your input and ideas during this meeting are greatly appreciated. Another meeting will also be held on January 18th, 2023.

Please help us welcome Mrs. Alysia Redman, who will be joining us starting tomorrow as our part-time secretarial aide for the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High. Alysia has a bachelor's degree in business management and a decade of office administrative experience, has been a receptionist and finance representative. She has three children and took a break to raise them. She has a great deal of interest in early childhood education and is very positive in her interactions with children and colleagues. We are excited to have her with us. Please help her feel welcome!

What's buzzin' cuzzin? Wednesday is the 50th day of school, word from the bird! It would really be swell to see all you cats in kippy 50s threads. So lets see those poodle skirts, leather jackets, saddle shoes, and rolled up jeans. It'll be the bees' knees!

Our 6th graders give back to elementary families every week from October to May! They pack over 60 bags of food, from EFPN in Midland, then deliver the bags to elementary classrooms. Then, they break down all of the cardboard cases for recycling. So proud of our Comets for taking on this awesome leadership opportunity!

Tomorrow is the day! Please remember to VOTE for the Board of Education Trustee seats that are on the ballot. Thank you for helping to support our schools!
