Welcome to Art Class!

The Coleman Community Schools art program prioritizes instilling a love for creativity in our students and encourages them to express themselves freely. We believe that art is a portal to understanding different cultures and personal identities.

What you'll learn in art class:

Students explore their drawing abilities as well as colors, new styles, mediums, and mixed-media techniques. We stay current with modern design trends in an effort to keep creative careers relevant in a positive learning environment.

Coleman art students will learn and understand that the elements of art (color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value) are the basic building blocks for artists to use to create visual compositions.

Recent Projects

~ ELEMENTS OF ART ~

Students explored the seven elements (line, shape, color, form and value) where they picked one cohesive image that was divided into seven sections to illustrate the seven elements. Students now understand that the elements of art are the basic components that artists use to create visual compositions. Now our high school students understand how to analyze and appreciate art by identifying and describing how artists use these elements to express themselves through different techniques and stylization.
