A big welcome to one of our newest additions to the Comet family, Ms. Liberty Rocheleau!
I asked her a few interview questions so we could get to know her better.
Why did you choose to become a teacher?
Ever since I was in 2nd grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. And now, I’m teaching 2nd grade! I love how 2nd graders come to school excited to learn every day.
What drew you to this opportunity?
I was already subbing in the elementary school, and the stars aligned! I had just graduated college and a job here opened up, so I knew I had to go for it!
What’s something you’re learning about right now?
How to survive being a new full-time gen ed teacher! Before, I worked primarily in smaller groups of ASD students, so being in a larger classroom of students is a bit of a challenge. Each week is improving, though!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to play with my dogs! I have an Australian Shepherd, Echo, and a Border Collie Mix, Mojo. My boyfriend and I enjoy doing all kinds of outdoor hobbies - hiking, fishing, and kayaking, especially.
What adjectives would you use to describe yourself?
Outgoing, positive, easygoing, kind
What’s your secret talent?
I used to do gymnastics!
