Recently, Drama Club students went to a Theatre and Dance Day at Central Michigan University where they could participate in workshops on acting, voice, props and costumes. They got to meet members of the cast of the Fall production of Cabaret, and get to know other theater majors at the University. We love to see our Comets building skills and being proactive!

Some of our awesome student leaders attended Midland County Youth Impact Partnership's Leadership Day on October 24 in Bullock Creek. Our students learned about sense of purpose, positive peer relationships, and self-esteem. After the break out sessions, they were given time to brainstorm ideas for their school's week of kindness, which is November 13-17. Our students did a great job representing Coleman Community Schools!

Recently, members of the Michigan FFA visited the Coleman Regional Agriscience Center. Following is a letter shared with Mr. Fischer and Mrs. Zwemmer about their visit. We are incredibly proud of the students, our teachers and the program. Great work! #GOCOMETS Good Morning Mr. Fischer, Logan and I had a great time visiting your chapter and getting to know you and your students! We really appreciate you opening your classroom to us. I especially enjoyed learning more about how your program works and seeing the barn. Your classes were so fun to work with, we loved being able to use those full 2 hours! I think I can speak for both of us when I say this was one of our favorite visits. Also, if you have those group pictures or any other pictures from the day we would love to have you share those! We look forward to hopefully seeing you and your students again soon. Thank you again, Lilly Nyland Michigan FFA State Secretary https://www.colemanschools.net/page/agriscience

Here's just a bit of what we've been up to with the IGNITE program at the Jr/Sr High School! Building STEM kits, designing models to print with the 3D printer, taking ownership of our space and painting cool space-themed billboards for program highlights, playing games, and chalking the sidewalks with things that we love! Our students have also been playing Dungeons & Dragons on Wednesdays with Mr. Kittle and participating in the new eSports gaming sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays ( must be grade-eligible to participate)! Whether you want to participate only one day or up to four days a week - we have a spot for you! There are still plenty of open spots. We can get you a meal during this time as well! Homework help is always available during IGNITE hours. Let us help you be successful this school year. We will be offering AM programming from 6:45 to 7:45 if there is enough interest and forms are turned in. ALL THIS IS 100% FREE!!!!!!! 7th - 12th grades! If you need an application, stop by and see Ms. Lea at her desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You may also send her an email at lcozat@cgresd.net or give her a call at (989) 240-0708.
