We love our WatchD.O.G.S. here at Coleman Elementary! Recently, we had Mr. Matt Sysak in Ms. Kendrick's Kindergarten class, Mr. Jason Germain in gym class with Mrs. Boulis's 5th grade class, and Mr. Sean Long with Mr. Booms's 4th grade class. Thank you for volunteering! If you're interested in volunteering via WatchD.O.G.S., please contact Richard Templeman at rtempleman@colemanschools.net, or call the Elementary School at (989) 465-6179.

A few more Spirit Week pics from last week! 6th grade participating in crayon day, hat day, and pajama day, and also kindergarten participating in crayon day. #ColemanCometPride

Homecoming 2024

What does leadership look like at the elementary school? Some of the oldest students in the building recently helped one of the youngest students in the building by modeling good behavior. We're so proud of how our Comets collaborate! #LEADLikeAComet

The 6th grade has been busy tending to the raised garden beds at the elementary school.
Elementary students planted the beds in the spring with plants grown by the Agriscience students. Now, we are harvesting tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, and peppers! Chef Moore from our Culinary class came to visit the 6th grade to answer our questions and to pick up our produce donation. We can’t wait to hear what they make! #growingforthefuture

Today is Tech./Communications Recognition Day for the District! Between Mrs. Laurie Bell, Mrs. Natalie Kalitta, Mr. Jim Burkhart, Mr. Brian Cone, Ms. Emily VanSickle, Mr. Zack MacPhee and Mr. James Schaefer, we have the best people around. These people do their "other" jobs throughout the day and then add to that, they keep our technology up-to-date and humming along and share all the amazing events and progress happening here at the school in new and fun ways. Thank you to each one of them!
If you have a moment today, please stop them and say thanks, give them a small token of appreciation or share a note with them to recognize their work.
2nd grader Miss Lily Palmer is our first Pledge Leader of the new school year! She did a fantastic job bravely reciting the Pledge of Allegiance all by herself and getting the meeting started. Thanks Lily for showing the Board how you #LEADLikeAComet!

Don't forget- Informational Community Meeting regarding the Nov. 5th Proposed Bond is this Wed., Sept. 11th @ 6pm in the Jr/Sr High School. Anyone with an interest in Coleman Schools is encouraged to attend and learn how you can vote early, what is included in the bond and how it has been reduced to 1.6 mills over the 2024 levy in order to support community feedback. We hope to see you there!
The 6th graders had a fun time working together and creating with Legos (Synergy!) The classes were split into teams of 4. Each team had to work together and decide what they were building and how they were building it. They did a great job! Look at that Comet Creed masterpiece! It even has a mini Mrs. Araway, Mrs. McCormack, and Mrs. Klopf overseeing everything - but the best part is the mini Deputy Hodges in the watchtower!! Ms. Timlin and Mrs. Lynch's classes did great with the 6th habit of Leader in Me! #LEADLikeAComet #ColemanCometPride

Mr. Liechty's class worked on lots of different math lessons today! Great job collaborating and learning together, Comets! #LEADLikeAComet

Mrs. Pelletier's kids were collaborating and sharing their LEGOs so nicely today during inside recess! Thanks for taking the time to #LEADLikeAComet today!
Mrs. Pelletier‘s third graders played a game that teaches cooperation and communication. The goal of the game is to get the correct colored ball into the correct colored hole. Students have to work together to communicate and cooperate so that the ball doesn’t go every which way. It was enjoyed by all and we all found Leaders in ourselves! #LEADLikeAComet #ColemanCometPride
