Some pics of the Kindergarten trip to Chippewa Nature Center a few weeks ago!
Miss Dittenber and Ms. Cederstrom’s classes got to wear the school rubber boots for their recent rainy trip to the Chippewa Nature Center. These were purchased through a grant specific to our Ag K-7 program, received several years ago. We were able to purchase enough boots for all K, 1st and 2nd graders to use on these trips and when they are working in the land lab, greenhouse or barn. Perfect for the rainy weather! ☔
Ms. Dittenber's 2nd graders enjoyed some mini pumpkin art! Great job, Comets! 🎃
CES celebrated Veteran's day on Monday with a special performance for local Veterans, and they did an amazing job. Mr. Taylor Jardas was one of our super cool WatchD.O.G.S. recently! Here he is with his son Jaxon and Mr. Boom's 4th grade class during gym time and his daughter Avery. Thank you Mr. Jardas for spending the day with us!
Kindergarten had a bunch of different fall-themed areas to discover: Exploring pumpkins, measuring pumpkins, pumpkin creations with apple stamps, and hammering tees into pumpkins. 🎃
Ms. Boulis' 5th graders participated in a water cycle activity with a member of the Chippewa Nature Center. They worked together to get "water" to flow, did an activity to show the different ways water can travel, and created posters of the water cycle.
The band performed their annual Halloween concert (sorry, a little late in sharing!) for the elementary students, complete with iconic tunes such as: "Ghostbusters," "Scary Had A Little Lamb," and "Revenge of the Dust Bunnies." Drum Major Kapre Lynch even took a turn conducting! #LEADLikeAComet
TOMORROW MORNING is Booksgiving! K - 2nd grade families, come read with us and receive some free books during breakfast time. We hope to see you there! 📚
Kindergarteners recently practiced some scientific reactions using baking soda and vinegar to make a volcano! 🌋 Looks like fun!

Mrs. Whittington's class took a lovely fall trip to Chippewa Nature Center, too! Even our youngest Comets love outdoor education and natural science! 🍂
2nd grade took some time to prioritize outdoor education recently! They studied types of trees and leaves and enjoyed the much nicer-than-normal fall weather. 🍂
Look who came back to volunteer at Coleman Elementary School! Welcome back to Mrs. Rachel Brownlee, former CES teacher turned FUMC Read to Lead Volunteer. We LOVE having you help us! Mrs. Brownlee is one of the volunteers from Faith United Methodist Church who has trained and is working with our students in reading. We greatly appreciate our the support of our volunteers like Mrs. Brownlee and feel extra appreciative that we've had her come back and see us! #LEADLikeAComet
