A tremendous thank you to Mrs. Karen Bressette, who has spent many years as a member of the Coleman Schools' Board of Education, most recently as the Board Treasurer and serving on the Board Finance/Facilities Committee. Karen has recently stepped down from the Board, and in her words, "I have learned so much and have felt it was such a meaningful way to serve my community. I am proud of the work that has been done these last years to take our school to the next level, with research and evidence-based practices. I will always be grateful for the experience." Karen has been a strong supporter of what is best for all students, with additional background in that which serves students with special needs. Each year she has continued her interest in learning about the finances, laws and duties of a Board of Education member. A sincere thank you, Karen, for your many years of service and care for our students, families and staff.

Katherine Schallhorn - Jr/Sr High ELA Special Education - Ms. Schallhorn also began as a long-term sub and moved into a permanent position.
Laci Wood - 5th grade - Mrs. Wood is excited to start as room 8's "forever teacher" this week
Alison Young - 3rd grade - Ms. Young will start in Ms. Creighton's 3rd grade classroom on March 14. Some might remember when she was originally in Coleman Schools for both her special and general education student teaching practicums with Mrs. Klopf and Mrs. Schuetz.
Join us in welcoming these four new members of the Comet Team!
Coleman Schools is closed today, Friday, February 25th.
A 2-hour delay was considered originally due to visibility currently, the pace of the snow cover the past hour and the fact that it is difficult to see the edges of the road. At this point, however, districts around us have mostly closed. While we want to be back in with our kids today, we hope you can understand the decision.
The trip to Traverse City tonight for those going to Bowling Regionals is also a go! Good luck Comets!
